Robert M. McGalliard, CFP
Managing Partner, Senior Benefits and Financial Consultant
In 1986, Robert established Employee Plans and Insurance Consultants, Inc (EPIC) as a privately held company devoted to quality, expertise, and personal relationships. His clients value his personal attention, timeliness, and depth of knowledge. He is responsible for overall management of the firm, including new business development, delivery of services, and client satisfaction.
Robert graduated with a BA in Business Management from North Carolina State University. He has an extensive background in financial and employee benefits planning, with over 30 years of industry experience as Benefits Consultant, and almost 20 years as a Certified Financial Planner.
Robert is a member of the National Association of Independent Financial Advisors, National Association of Health Underwriters and Society of Human Resource Managers. Throughout his career he has been a Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and a Leading Producer Round Table Member of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
In addition to his work endeavors, Robert gives much of his time to non-profit organizations. He has been involved with the following organizations:

- Past President of Caldwell Academy Athletic Booster Club
- Past President of Wesleyan Christian Academy Athletic Booster Club
- Hospice Volunteer
- Former Deacon at Friendly Hills Church, PCA (Presbyterian Church of America)
Byron Lawton
Senior Associate, Benefits and Financial Consultant
Byron began as an intern with EPIC in 2005, and upon graduating from Hampden-Sydney College in 2009, he became a fulltime associate with the firm. Byron graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a double major in Economics & Commerce and History. He consults with both corporate clients on their employee benefit plans and focuses on providing them with strategic planning and benefit solutions, and individual clients on retirement and financial planning.
Since 2009 he has worked in account management, strategic employee benefit planning, employer wellness initiatives, individual retirement planning and implementation/preparation for the upcoming affects of PPACA.
Byron is currently enrolled in the College of Financial Planning and was recently featured in the November, 2012 issue of Employee Benefits Advisor as a “Top 10 Rising Star in Advising”. At Hampden-Sydney College he was captain of the basketball team, member of Omnicrom Delta Kappa and a member of the Student Athletic Committee.
